Zombies vs Rainstorm

(I'm going to spoil the rest of the story by saying 'Don't Panic")

Last night, while that HUGE storm was in mid-deluge, I recieved a phone call from James at Bucketworks. there was some leakage/minor flooding in the basement, specificly the area where the puppets and props for the show are being stored. In cardboard boxes.

My stomach dropped, and I raced to the shop as fast as the Milwaukee County Transit System would carry me. When I got there, most of our puppet boxes, props and knick-knacks were stacked high and dry. (Thanks, James!) But 4 boxes, full of character puppets, were soggy-bottomed.

I checked each damaged box's tenants carefully. There was definitely some dampness. But nothing soaked through . There was no paint schmearing or material damage. The boxes themselves had taken the brunt of it.

>whew<

(I think it's time to make the switch to plastic bins. Seriously. We got lucky)

On the way there, (thunder crashing, rain pissing down in buckets) I was mostly concerned with the "What If"; if the puppets had been "lost at sea". I knew, KNEW that the show would go on somehow. We love doing this show too much to let a little something like wet fleece and waterlogged foam hold us back.

But we're cool.

Don't Panic.
